They say stop and smell the roses… what about the others?

“Stop and smell the roses.”

Fair enough.

What about the others?

The wildflowers growing where nobody planned for them to be.

The strange-looking plant that appears to have made several questionable decisions.

Do they not smell?

Do they not exist?

Seems a little unfair.

The funny thing about attention is that it tends to gather around familiar favorites.

Meanwhile, plenty of wonderful things are sitting quietly off to the side.

Waiting.

Not for applause.

Just for someone to notice.

That’s the real lesson.

Not to stop and smell the roses.

To stop.

Period…

Then see what’s actually around you.

A flower.

A cloud.

A conversation.

A weird little moment that wasn’t important until you paid attention to it.

Life has a habit of hiding good stuff outside the spotlight.

Outside the bouquet.

Outside the places everyone else is already looking.
