People have been arguing about the glass for a long time.

Half full.

Half empty.

Optimist.

Pessimist.

Round and round it goes…

Meanwhile, the glass is probably wondering why it’s not the center of attention.

Funny.

Everyone seems focused on measuring what’s inside.

Rarely on the fact that there’s a glass at all.

That’s the part that interests me.

Before the debate.

Before the opinions.

Before the percentages.

There it is.

A container.

An opportunity.

Something capable of holding whatever comes next.

The funny thing about gratitude is that it changes the conversation.

Perspective has a way of doing that.

Of course, if we’re being honest, the glass isn’t the whole story anyway.

Somewhere nearby sits the pitcher.

Quietly minding its business.

Holding far more than anyone is talking about.

That’s life…

We spend so much time studying what’s immediately in front of us that we forget to notice the source.

The abundance.

The possibilities.

The refill.

Half full.

Half empty.

Both fair observations.

As for me…

I’m just thankful for the glass.

And curious about the whole pitcher.
