Toe Jam

Baby, no need to be callous… here, let me pedicure.
—Jig3125
Sometimes the smallest things can become a real pain.
A little roughness here.
A little dryness there.
Before you know it, you’ve got a callous making itself comfortable.
“Baby, no need to be callous.”
Easy to say.
Harder to convince the foot.
Because feet have their own opinions.
They carry us everywhere.
Through sidewalks.
Stairs.
Sand.
Grass.
Long days.
They take the abuse and rarely get a thank-you.
Then somebody finally notices.
“Hold on…”
“What’s going on down there?”
A little attention can go a long way.
Soaking.
Trimming.
Moisturizing.
A little care.
And suddenly that rough spot isn’t running the show anymore.
Sometimes we simply need someone to say:
Baby, no need to be callous.
Here…
let me pedicure.
