Sad clown… Happy persons circus.

—Jig3125

Every circus has a clown.

Big shoes.

Bright colors.

A painted smile.

The description is simple:

“Make everybody laugh.”

Nobody ever asks,

“Hey… you good?”

Funny how that works.

The audience leaves smiling.

The clown leaves looking for somewhere to wash off the face.

Maybe that’s why life feels like a circus sometimes.

Everyone has an act.

The confident one.

The serious one.

The funny one.

The one who claims they’re “living the dream.”

Sure.

Some performances deserve an award.

Others deserve a nap.

We spend so much time putting on faces that we forget what our own looks like.

Imagine if people walked around with thought bubbles instead.

“Running on two hours of sleep.”

“I have no idea what I’m doing.”

“I hope nobody asks me any questions.”

Now that would be entertaining.

Maybe we’d laugh a little more.

Judge a little less.

The clown isn’t always sad.

The happy person isn’t always happy.

Sometimes they’re just trying to make it through the day like everyone else.

So before you applaud the performance…

Put a human face on it.

Behind every act is a person.

Every circus eventually packs up and goes home.
