What’s that you say… can he speak for his self?
—Jig3125
The Loch Ness Monster has had a busy career.
Sightings.
Documentaries.
Newspaper articles.
Conspiracy theories.
Tourist attractions.
Not bad for someone who’s never given an interview.
Think about that.
People have spent generations discussing what Nessie is.
What Nessie isn’t.
Where Nessie lives.
What Nessie eats.
How Nessie feels.
A remarkable amount of information for a creature that has never officially confirmed anything.
Funny.
Everybody seems to have an opinion.
The scientists.
The believers.
The skeptics.
The tourists.
The guy with the blurry photograph.
They’re all speaking.
Nessie remains silent.
That’s the real mystery.
Not whether the monster exists.
Whether the monster agrees with any of this.
For all we know, Nessie could be exhausted.
“That’s not even my good side.”
“Wrong lake.”
“Never said that.”
Imagine spending decades being represented by complete strangers.
Exhausting.
Perhaps that’s why the story survives.
Everyone enjoys a mystery.
Especially one they can explain for somebody else.
What’s that you say?
Can he speak for his self?
Until Nessie schedules a press conference…
I suppose we’ll never know.
