Sounds like a pretty strange place…

Then again, Heracleion has been underwater for a long time.

Marine snow drifts down through the water like underwater snowfall—tiny pieces of life and debris slowly settling toward the bottom.

Maw by the bank.

Where things get interesting.

Because a bank can hold money.

A bank can hold water.

And apparently, a bank can hold a whole city…

Long enough to remind you that some things disappear without actually going anywhere.

Heracleion didn’t vanish.

It just changed addresses.

No streets.

No ma’am.

Maw…

Even underwater, the bank has a mouth.

Same history.

Different depth.

Apparently there’s the leashes …

The seas.
