Fishy

In the troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, exosphere… on flat lands.

There’s something fishy about the whole thing.

Five layers above us.

The troposphere.

The stratosphere.

The mesosphere.

The thermosphere.

The exosphere.

Up, up, and away.

Yet somehow, we’re still talking about flat land.

That’s quite a trip for something that supposedly isn’t going anywhere.

Meanwhile, down here, humans remain fascinated by the shape of things.

Flat.

Round.

Straight.

Curved.

We like our answers to have edges.

The universe apparently didn’t get the memo.

“Flat” is less about the land and more about how we look at it.

Stand in a field and everything can appear flat.

Climb a hill and the view changes.

Go higher and it changes again.

Higher still…

and suddenly the ground itself becomes part of something much larger.

The farther you go, the smaller your argument can become.

That’s why the atmosphere is worth remembering.

Five layers.

One planet.

One very thin place between us and everything beyond.

And somewhere underneath all of it…

flat lands.

Fishy?

A little.
