Relapse be a trip on… how sobriety reaches new highs.

—Jig3125

The word high usually gets associated with intoxication.

The real high isn’t the substance.

It’s the clarity.

The freedom.

The stability.

Everyone talks about getting high.

Few people talk about how good it feels to no longer need to…

Funny how perspective works.

A relapse can be a trip.

A confusing one.

A frustrating one.

Sometimes a painful one.

It can convince a person they’ve traveled farther backward than they actually have.

Journeys aren’t always measured by direction.

Sometimes they’re measured by understanding.

By what gets learned.

By what gets carried forward.

The strange part is that sobriety rarely looks dramatic from the outside.

No fireworks.

No parade.

Just a person continuing.

Day after day.

Choice after choice.

Quietly building something stronger than momentum.

Building trust.

Building peace.

Building a life.

Some people might call that ordinary.

Maybe they’re not paying attention.

There is something extraordinary about standing where you once stumbled.

Not because you’ve become perfect.

Because you’ve become present.

Relapse be a trip…

So is sobriety.

One takes you away from yourself.

The other brings you a pretty remarkable high.
